Upon its foundation, LDA focuses its activities on the local rural development and on the multicultural environment where it works. :
Umberto Ademollo: President of LDA since 2006. He represents the organization at local, regional, national and international level; he is in charge of nurturing partnerships with other NGOs, local institutions and authorities as well as widening the Agency’s network.
Eric Persel: he is the project coordinator, competent and experienced in organizing and implementing various youth projects and managing the coordination with the LDA’s partners in a realization of projects. He is responsible for the timely implementation of the planned activities, the volunteers’ adaptation, requests and the activities’ implementation. He has participated in various youth projects, assisted and has been responsible for the realization of several projects in which LDA was a partnering organization, has served as mentor and coordinator of the previous EVS projects realized by the agency. Mr. Persel is bilingual in Italian and Croatian, fluent in English and with basic knowledge in French and German languages.
VOLUNTEERS OF EVS 2017/2018 – PROJECT: “Youth Ideas Empower Local Democracy in Europe”
Our new team of volunteers arrived 1. 9. 2017 and they will stay till 31. 7. 2018. Their duties are preparing activities for locals citizens, promoting the EVS in abroad and in Croatia, and realization of projects. Therefore, citizens from Brtonigla will have the opportunity to get more info about other countries in Europe and to know the habits abroad. You can follow them on Facebook, or Instagram!
Riccardo Mantovani, 28 years old, from Italy. His background is in International and European Relations. He previously lived abroad in Sweden, Germany and Belgium. He speaks fluently Italian and English and has an elementary knowledge of French and Swedish. After the studies, He took a couple of courses in European project management and assisted in project proposal writing. The ESC in Brtonigla/Verteneglio will be a valuable opportunity to improve his skills in this filed as well as to learn more about Istrian and Croatian cultures.
Julia Oelker is18 years old and coming from a small town in eastern Germany. In the next eleven months here, in Brtonigla, she is looking forward to broadening her horizon and having a positive impact on this community. Since she just finished High school this summer, the ESC is a great opportunity to learn how life really works. She can speak German, English as well as French and hopes to get a basic level of Italian/Croatian to better interact with locals.
Manuel Salas Ruiz: He comes from south Spain, from the sunny and warm Andalucía. He is 22 years old and he just finished a degree in geography and territory management. He studied for three years italian, wich is a language that he can speak fuently. He also have a good level of english. Last year He did an erasmus + exchange program, and it was an incredible experience for him because he was able to socialize, be more independent and open minded. He consider himself a person close to the ideas of a common European project, and of solidarity with neighboring countries, so this is why he wanted to do something abroad. He love traveling, and this volunteer project in Croatia is a great opportunity for him. He is really interested in the region of Istria and it´s culture and he is looking forward to start working.
Elza Bibere 21 years old, from Riga, the capital of Latvia. She has graduated from the Asian studies department of the University of Latvia. This is her first long-term volunteering experience and she is looking forward to learning more about the Croatian culture and engaging with the local community. The region of Istra presents a wonderful opportunity to learn both Croatian and Italian languages and explore the multicultural environment. She is fluent in Latvian, English and Japanese and has a basic knowledge of French and Russian and has a passion for arts and cultures.
