Upon its foundation, LDA focuses its activities on the local rural development and on the multicultural environment where it works. :
Umberto Ademollo: President of LDA since 2006. He represents the organization at local, regional, national and international level; he is in charge of nurturing partnerships with other NGOs, local institutions and authorities as well as widening the Agency’s network.
Eric Persel: he is the project coordinator, competent and experienced in organizing and implementing various youth projects and managing the coordination with the LDA’s partners in a realization of projects. He is responsible for the timely implementation of the planned activities, the volunteers’ adaptation, requests and the activities’ implementation. He has participated in various youth projects, assisted and has been responsible for the realization of several projects in which LDA was a partnering organization, has served as mentor and coordinator of the previous EVS projects realized by the agency. Mr. Persel is bilingual in Italian and Croatian, fluent in English and with basic knowledge in French and German languages.
VOLUNTEERS OF EVS 2017/2018 – PROJECT: “Youth Ideas Empower Local Democracy in Europe”
Our new team of volunteers arrived 1. 9. 2017 and they will stay till 31. 7. 2018. Their duties are preparing activities for locals citizens, promoting the EVS in abroad and in Croatia, and realization of projects. Therefore, citizens from Brtonigla will have the opportunity to get more info about other countries in Europe and to know the habits abroad. You can follow them on Facebook, or Instagram!
Susanne Schulz: 18 years old, from Essen a smaller city in western Germany. She finished secondary school in July 2017 and began her EVS in Brtonigla two months later. This EVS will be the first long-term volunteering for her. Susanne loves to travel and is looking forward to getting to know the Croatian country, culture, and language – in a different way, in greater detail, than an ordinary stay would affect. She can speak German and English fluently. Because of the multicultural and multilingual property of Istria in general, but also especially of Brtonigla/ Verteneglio Susanne would like to learn Italian as well.
Ana Trajkovska: 23 years old, from Skopje, the capital of Macedonia. She finished secondary school(gymnasium) and now she is a student at the Faculty of Philology in Skopje, department of Italian language and literature. This is her first long term volunteering and since she is doing it in Brtonigla, Istria, it will be a great opportunity to improve her Italian language. She is fluent in English and Croatian. Ana has an immense passion for traveling and exploring other cultures. She says that she loved Croatia since always, and she is looking forward spending 11 months here and learning more about its culture.
Petr Svoboda: Petr is the volunteer from Czechia, he is 26 years old, and as others volunteers, he is helping with LDA’s project implementation and activities. In past, he participated in projects like Czech model of USA Congres, worked in Science center IQLANDIA in Liberec, or was a marketing manager in a company providing internet in Czechia. He speaks fluently English, Czech and has basics of German language. Petr studied hospitality and tourism in Liberec, and also visited the Technical University of Liberec with focus on philosophy.
Domenico Lena: I am Domenico Lena and I am 24 years old. I come from Basilicata, a small region in the south of Italy. I studied Political Science at the University of Siena for 5 years, I am a graduate student in Development and International Cooperation on September 2017. I was actively involved in Amnesty International Siena’s Group for a year and a half until I graduated. My studies, the Amnesty experience and my personal attitude led me to pay attention to human rights, development of societies and educational system.
