M I S S O N
LDA is a non-profit and non-governmental organisation which goal is to encourage the active participation of citizens in the local community in order to create better social, economic and political conditions of life. LDA supports the strengthening of local democracy and the development of civil society in Istria region and in the southeast of Europe through the framework of the Association of Local Democracy Agencies (ALDA). It also promotes the protection of human rights and minority groups, and supports intercultural dialogue by strengthening local democracy and active citizenship.

Our vision is based on a healthy democratic society with a strong civil society sector and active citizenship that respects human rights, cultural diversity and the fundamental values of the European Union. Through its work, LDA aims to achieve positive changes in society.

- Improvement of socio-economic development through the promotion of active citizenship
- Support to civil society organizations and local authorities in the development of sustainable democracy
- Promotion and support of international cooperation involving local authorities, non-governmental organizations and other institutions
- Increase the level of awareness of citizens, especially young people, about the EU, its policies and programs, and to point out the benefits that citizens have through the EU membership

- The support and promotion of civil initiatives and economic development
- Promotion of volunteering and public events that raises the awareness of the importance of voluntary work in the development of each individual and the entire community
